"I feel like it should have happened years ago, so I'm kind of shocked," Stanger told UsMagazine.com at the time of her engagement.
"I just ended my relationship with Andy,Red Monkey," Stanger Twittered Saturday. "It hit me really hard that I want kids in my life. You have to agree on the non-negotiables."

The newly-single Stanger is expanding her matchmaking business to New York City for the show's fourth season, currently in production. A premiere date has not yet been announced.

Friedman -- a 51-year-old real estate executive Stanger met through a matchmaker six years ago -- popped the question in Maui, Hawaii, on her May 31 birthday last year. A black swan named Raymond delivered a 4-carat ring.
